The Gunners have already played five games in the lead up to the Premier League season. Arsenal started their International
Champions Cup campaign with a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich. They followed that up with a 3-0 win Fiorentina. Lacazette and Aubameyang put
the North Londoners two goals up against Real Madrid, before being pegged back and eventually losing on penalties. Their Emirates Cup match against Lyon followed a similar pattern with Aubameyang’s opener coming before two 2nd half Lyon goals.
Betting Tips
Barcelona are the stronger team on paper, but Arsenal have the advantage of three extra games. By this stage of their preseason,
Arsenal players will be fully up to speed and ready for the league campaign. Barcelona still have two more matches to come
after this encounter and could be off the pace. Having gone two down to Chelsea, we’re backing Arsenal to bag a similar result.
Arsenal have scored and conceded in all but one of their last four. With Barcelona also scoring and conceding against Chelsea,
we think both teams to score is a good bet at insert odds.
It’s a reasonable assumption to expect goals in preseason friendlies and this should be much the same. Erring on the side of caution, backing over 2.5 goals should provide decent value.
